Leo Fender
Bunker Guitars Classic "Stats" Deluxe

Remembering
Leo Fender

The Bunker Classic “STATS” Deluxe is our version of a tried and proven guitar that is a classic in our industry. In 1962 Dave Bunker brought his revolutionary guitar ideas to Leo Fender at a Chicago NAMM Show. Over the next decade Dave became an associate of his. Bunker was demonstrating his new technology in the Mosrite/Standell Guitar/Amplifier booth, as were Chet Atkins, Joe Maphis, and Barbara Mandrell. This new instrument was the first Duo-Lectar. It was historic and the very beginning of the era of Touch Guitar performers. Leo Fender offered Bunker $20,000 for the rights to his upcoming individual string control instruments. But Dave graciously declined his offer. It was Bunker’s opinion that his ideas would survive and become needed in the advancement of guitar technology. This is why today we honor the great designer Leo Fender by incorporating our new technology into his popular Stratocaster line of guitars. It is truly the perfect instrument to represent this great man, and Dave’s friend, Leo Fender. See our three models of “STATS” guitars inspired by Leo Fender.
